The MultiCultural Development Center and a great group of youth need you, your time, and leadership skills in the mentorship program.

Our Programs and Services
EDUCATION & MENTORING
SONS & DAUGHTERS OF WISDOM MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
A mentoring program established to teach, empower, encourage, coach and support meaningful life lessons and skills to youth and teens ages 8-18 through the provision of real life examples, workshops, group discussions, counseling, training, and personal interactions with assigned and committed mentor(s) who have displayed the desired qualities and completed the eligibility requirements as specified by the Multicultural Development Center Board and its members.
CHILDCARE, AFTER-SCHOOL AND TUTORING SERVICES
Penny’s Child Care Center, licensed with the State of Texas' Department of Family and Protective Services, offers a high-quality childcare and after-school care. All staff are required to complete 30 hours of Orientation to the Penny’s Child Care and Learning Center standards, be certified in Child C.P.R. and First Aid, criminal background and FBI fingerprint checked, and they must complete an additional 24 hours of training annually. Penny’s Child Care Center offers an appropriate and balanced quality program for infants and children from 6 weeks to 8 years old.
Second Chance Workshops and Services to Prevent and Reduce Recidivism
Life Skills Workshops for Single Parents and Seniors
Workshops to assist Veterans; Military to Civilian Workforce Careers
Providing parents with the skills needed to strengthen the family bond through workshops. In addition MCDC provides counseling, addressing those issues that disrupt the family bond and place barriers for youth to learn. Services include:

Community Resource Fairs
Fall Festival Coat, Socks, Blanket Drive Giveaways
Clothing Assistance for Verified Job Interviews/Job Offers
Christmas Angel Tree Services
MultiCultural Development Center seeks volunteers to assist us with serving our community. Would you like be serve as a Guest Speaker, Mentor, teach a computer class or conduct job readiness sessions? Complete the Volunteer Application and a MCDC representative will contact you. All volunteers serving as Mentors are required to undergo a criminal background check before working with the Sons and Daughters of Wisdom Mentorship Program.
